- The air pressure may be too low, increase the air pressure.
- The air line is too narrow, replace with a bigger air line.

- Possibility of dirt or foreign material in the motor, inspect and flush the motor.
- A chance of internal rust in the motor, inspect and flush the motor.

- Limited exhaust - inspect and repair.
- Inadequate air flow from the air source, inspect and repair.
- Air source too far from the motor, move the air source closer.

- Motor is running hot, perform a service maintenance.
Fault Finding - RM Style Piston Air Motors
GLOBE RM Piston Air Motors are designed to perform at their rated capacities for long periods of time. The motor should always be supplied with clean, moisture free, and lubricated air. Air quality should meet ISO 8573-1:2010 class 4 for solid particles and ISO 8473- 1:2010 class 3 for water.
Faults can develop for the following reasons:

- This will result into rapid wear, internal seizure, loss of power or excessive air leakage.

- Failure to remove the plastic protective dust caps.

Faults in the Air Supply System
- Insufficient air pressure at the motor caused by:
- Supply pipeline or valve too small.
- If the exhaust is piped away, excessive back pressure due to small bore pipes.
- Compressor of insufficient capacity.
- Clogged air line filter.
- The air pressure should remain at the required pressure when the motor is operating at full potential. If the air pressure reduces considerably from the stationary to the rotating conditions, then the supply line or the compressed air available is inadequate for the service operation of the motor.
